When you feel the urge to do something insanely stupid, something totally against the normal principles of transacting good sound business (such as signing a contract in a foreign language without having it translated to your mother tongue for instance), please refer to the above theory.
If you follow this very basic principle you should have relatively few problems in CR and the above witticism won't be at your expense.
The flip side of the millionaire issue of course is that a person could increase his net worth considerably by investing in CR if he were also to heed the offered advice. This is a land of "milk and honey" but can also be completely "ruthless and relentless in the pursuit of your money".
This is the accumulated wisdom of 10 years of living in CR.
Take it for what it's worth. It cost me a small fortune living the experience. Nothing would be accomplished by having you go through some of the same silly situations as those that came before you.
I say to you "Bienvenidos" and please be careful with your contractual affairs in CR. Find yourself two good lawyers to start with and use them both. They aren't expensive. Learn the language to the best of your ability and talk to us that are here. We will gladly share some of our most memorable experiences with you.
