"La Taverna"
Imagine this!!! A town of 3500 people nestled into the most south west corner of Costa Rica, the "Peninsula de Osa". Only 40 kilometers from the world renowned "Corcovado National Park. The town is Puerto Jimenez the commercial capital of the "Peninsula de Osa" The bar is known as "La Taverna" The only one of it's kind on the entire peninsula. This historical landmark was substantially renovated in the summer of 1996. It's located only 125 meters from the town center. It sits on 800 sq. meters of property and the buildings comprise approximately 200sq. meters. The property is completely fenced in with the majority enclosed by a stone wall. The huge garden in the back with it's large number of fruit trees is ideal for future room or restaurant expansion. There are presently four remodeled rooms on the property which can either be used for business or as living quarters for the owners or managers. The sale of this location includes all the necessary equipment to function as a bar as it presently does, including a national liquor license. It is a turn key operation with all legal documentation complete and in the name of a corporate entity. That is very valuable, as the most difficult thing to achieve in Costa Rica is to have everything in your corporate name. It takes time and money and a lot of patience dealing with the bureaucracy. The very lucrative point of "the taverna" is that it is the only licensed location on the peninsula to participate in this type of business. These are old licenses and no new ones are being issued. It is rare to find one with both liquor and motel permits. If you do find one they are in the hands of Costa Ricans. Few foreigners have the opportunities of purchasing this type of business.
